How cool was the Moke?

That’s a question that we have been asking ourselves for the last 20 years - since Moke stopped production in Portugal. And it’s a question to which we have been answering ourselves for the last 20 years as well. Fact is – The Moke was Very Cool… So cool that we didn’t want it to die in Portugal so we did something about it.
We took a chance. We took a chance back in 2005 when we decided to embark on this project and bring it back.

Moke International started as a family owned operation and like most family businesses it has involved long days and sleepless nights, not only trying to meet our personal and business goals – but trying to go beyond them. You may have heard it all before, but when you are working on something that you are enthusiastic about it means so much more.

Over the years the company has grown and now there is a dedicated crew of us involved – all working hard to resurrect the Moke. As of this year we will have been working on this project for more than 7 years and with all of them being in China. Suffice to say we now can use chopsticks very well. In China we have had our ups and downs, but in 2012 we teamed up with Sicar Engineering and Chery Motors to bring the Moke back into full production.

To cut a long story short – we thought the Moke was awesome - so we brought it back!
